Herts Middlesex Junior League Division 3
Twickenham Terriers 49 v Harrow 5

Twickenham Terriers played their second league game of the season against a Harrow side recently relegated from Division 2. Playing into a strong wind during the first half, the Terriers pack battled hard against a much larger pack to provide ball for their backs, who dominated their opponents, scoring six tries to give the Terriers a 34–0 lead at half time.
The second half saw a spirited Harrow side take more control, resulting in their one and only try. As the half continued, Twickenham regained their dominance and ran in another three tries to finish any comeback from Harrow. The game ended with the Terriers running out clear winners, 49–5.
Well done Terriers for an excellent display of committed rugby, despite the trying conditions.

Sunday 7th October 2007
Herts Middlesex Junior League Division 1
Twickenham Tigers 10 v Harpenden 8

A new look Tigers took to the field on Sunday with injuries and Middlesex County commitments taking their toll. The new age qualification rules at County level are causing problems, as anyone born before January 1st is now considered to be an Under 18, and, due to the usual planning skills at County, the Under 18 County fixtures are now clashing with the Herts Middlesex League fixtures for the Under 17s - another fine example of the selflessness of County and the Schools!
To continue, this resulted in some of last season’s Terriers having to step and be counted, and they did not let anyone down. One of the toughest games we have ever played showed our depth of commitment, resilience and skill to squeeze out the win against an extremely well drilled and able Harpenden side. The tight score and the manner in which the game was played is indicative of the respect shown by each team for each other. It was truly an exciting and tense game to watch, let alone participate in!
Congratulations to the Tigers for overturning last season’s result and our greatest respect to Harpenden for being so magnanimous in defeat.
